Melissa Marr, New York Times bestselling author of the Wicked Lovely series, returns to the ethereal and bloodthirsty world of faery in this dramatic story of the precarious space between two worlds--and the people who must thrive there. Lilywhite Abernathy is a criminal--she's half human, half fae, and since the time before she was born her very blood has been illegal. A war has been raging between humans and faeries, and the Queen of Blood and Rage, ruler of the fae courts, wants to avenge the tragic death of her heir due to the actions of reckless humans. Lily's father has always shielded her from the truth, but when she's sent to the prestigious St. Columba's school, she's delivered straight into the arms of a fae Sleeper cell--the Black Diamonds. The Diamonds are planted in the human world as the sons and daughters of the most influential families, and tasked with destroying it from within. Against her will, Lilywhite's been chosen to join them . . . and even the romantic attention of the fae rock singer Creed Morrison isn't enough to keep Lily from wanting to run back to the familiar world she knows. Don't miss the lush, gripping follow-up, One Blood Ruby!… (plus d'informations)

On the whole, an exciting new fae adventure from Melissa Marr, in a new world and with an entirely different scenario than the Wicked Lovely series.

I have to admit that I didn't love it as much as the previous series, but it grew on me by the end. I think the things I did not love were mostly to do with the characters -- enough with the spoiled it-children, already. I don't care if they have the secret angst, cult of celebrity is not interesting to me. However, I do appreciate a strong female lead, and Lilywhite is awesome on that front.

I got to 28%. This one just isn't doing it for me. So many points of view, so much repetition. I don't feel like I know any one of the characters well enough yet to get attached and care about what happens. And it's labeled an untitled series...no thanks.

So I was not a fan of this books set up. The plot and characters were okay but the way we bounced around from POV to POV drove me crazy (and I usually like multi POV books) but each character knew different things, so it constantly felt like I was being thrown in the deep end. I was pretty convinced I must have missed a book before this one. On top of the confusing viewpoints, all the relationships were exceedingly rushed, not just romantic, all the personal time between the characters that builds the friendships and camaraderie just didn’t happen. Instead it was ‘we spent time together throughout the following weeks and became friends’. ( )
