I do not think it really has any sort of message, it is just a fun read. For children who are easily spooked by Halloween things this is a very non-scary fun Halloween read. This book can help however with the "way" that a child reads, the mood and voicing of the reader can manipulated with this book to either make the story a little spookier or a little more happy like a song. There is a counting aspect to the story which can be great for early math skills. This story is about 5 little pumpkins. The pumpkins see spooky things such as witches, bats, spooky wind, and darkness. The pumpkins run away to have some Halloween fun. Pete the Cat is featured in this book as well. I would use this book with grades K and 1st. This book is good to teach about rhyming, and counting. It can also be used to introduce Halloween or pumpkins. aucune critique | ajouter une critique

Using the classic “Five Little Pumpkins” theme, Pete the Cat celebrates Halloween. With illustrations to add Pete the Cat into this Halloween adventure, the pumpkins use the classic rhyme to describe the witches in the air and celebrating Halloween in a way that will already be familiar to many of its readers.
While fans of Pete the Cat might enjoy a new book about him, this book doesn’t add anything to the rhyme or to the Pete the Cat books. The text is an exact copy of the “Five Little Pumpkins” rhyme, so Pete the Cat has nothing to do with the book other than being in the illustrations. It feels like a way to sell more Pete the Cat books without needing to come up with a new story, but fans of the books might still enjoy having a Pete the Cat version of the rhyme to help celebrate Halloween.
