This is a story about a girl named Rebecca who is about to move to a new town in Maine. She is upset because she must leave her best friend Emily behind. Rebecca is not happy living on the island and does not have any friends. This is until see meets Amanda and she offers for Rebecca to ride in the Fourth of July parade as a bear with her. As she spends more time with Amanda she thinks about doing this things with her best friend Emily. During the parade, the girls have a wonderful time and even have an ice cream after. Rebecca then brings Amanda to a swimming spot she found where they enjoy the water together. That night Rebecca and her family look for the bear stars and even though Rebecca may not be in the city anymore with Emily enjoying summer, she has made a new friend today on her island. This story just like the others written by Lasky involve problem solving. The characters are presented with a problem in the beginning of the story and by the end of the story they have fixed this problem and are now happy again. Something I find interesting, is that this book was a lot more descriptive than the other two books I read by Lasky. She gave so many details in this story that it was hard to follow and stay interested in. Another thing I have noticed that is the same among "Lucille camps in" and "Fourth of July Bear" is that the child and their parents both observe the stars and find the great bear star also known as Ursa Major. This happens at the end of the story when the child’s conflict has been resolved. ( ) aucune critique | ajouter une critique
