This was a different type of WWII book than I'm used to reading. It's always good to find new elements of the war that you don't know much about. Sarah Sundin is a prolific author in this sub-genre of Christian WWII romance. I'd recommend this book to anyone who wants to know more about the plight of the Navy in the months leading up to Pearl Harbor. ( )

This is an enthralling story. I found all the nautical terms throughout make the story more gripping. I relish history, and stories set during the World War 2 period, so I was instantly drawn to Through Waters Deep. I learned more about the time period just before the U.S. entered the war, and some of the little-known events which took place.

This is a well crafted story, and builds to a powerful, on-the-edge-of-your-seat climax. I highly recommend this if you enjoy history, and mystery. A great summer read. ( )

I love all of Sarah's books! This one was the first of a new series, and I can't wait to read the next one! A tender romance, sabotage, WWII, it's all here. Great developed characters, well-described setting. ( )

I thoroughly enjoyed this book by Sarah Sundin! The characters were well developed, the plot carried you along, and the history included was very interesting. Mystery, suspense, and romance ran throughout. Mary Stirling's job gets her in hot water and cold water, too! She falls for someone who aches for someone else. She gets one too many roommates and may just skip town. Jim Avery is happy doing whatever the U. S. Navy tells him to do but is that really what he wants? Find out in this Waves of Freedom book #1.
