Por alguna razon no es demasiado conocida fuera de Hungria. La obra retrata el viaje del hombre desde el inicio del mundo hasta el fin del mundo pasando por muchas de sus epocas historicas mas representativas. Yo no diria que hay filosofia en esta obra pero desde luego que si hay mucha sabiduria. El tema principal es "Cual es el sentido de la vida?" Y alrededor de este tema hay preguntas sobre el libre albedrio, la providencia, bondad, maldad, nobleza, amor, etc. Y todos estos temas se introducen de tal manera que incluso da la sensacion de ser una lectura ligera, cada escena es relativamente corta y entretenida.
