I like the concept of book that is told in a fiction kind of way but has lots of information that is true to the process of what happens to the leaves and the tree itself. illustrations are really good especially the one that shows how tree also needs water and how they get their water. It has scientific terms of what happens to trees but is not ovewhelming with scientific information. Talks about the different seasons of the year. I am a Leaf by Jean Marzollo is my first informational book I have read so far. I like this book because it is a simple and fun way to introduce science of a leaf’s life cycle. One reason I find this book great is because of its ending. Not only is the book filled with facts, but at the end more facts are listed as a quick reference. This list includes two new facts about leaves and also asks a question to help the reader solidify what they’ve already read and learned. Another reason I like this book is its way to make learning about the leaf fun. It refers to the leaves as having jobs, taking in the sunlight and giving out oxygen. It explains how its color comes from chlorophyll and it shows the leaf cycle through all the seasons and which animals would be around it at the time. It also includes small facts about trees, how they take in water, and how an evergreen never loses leaves. The main idea in this book is to teach children. It is an informational book meant to deepen a child’s knowledge of leaves and the cycle they go through. aucune critique | ajouter une critique
