Found this book in a stack of books and papers. My Mother-in-law was one of the original members of the Long Beach Historical Society and had lived on the Rancho Los Cerritos as a child. I was born and raised in Long Beach, so this naturally piqued my interest. Besides it’s about ghosts! Perfect read on Halloween!

This is a collection of reported ghost sightings over the years in Long Beach, California. Put out by the Long Beach Historical Society, it is short and fun to read. They’ve also included photos of the sites from their archives.

Hauntings are part of the history of the Rancho Los Cerritos, Queen Mary, and various residences, hotels and streets. There is a section on rumoured hauntings, where the author wasn’t able to find articles or people to substantiate the rumours.

There is often historical information about the location and what happened to the sites and also a map showing the sites. An interesting and fun read. ( )
