It includes kid friendly pictures to of his inventions and various times in his life. I really liked that they text was big enough for children to read and each chapter is only a few pages long. The size of the chapters won't scare children away. Also, the words used in the book are kid friendly meaning that it is easy enough for children to read. Even some new vocabulary is explained in parentheses next to the word. My favorite part of this book was that almost every single page has a picture/ drawling on it to go along with the text. I even learned some new things about Galileo that I never knew! ( ) aucune critique | ajouter une critique

"Like Michelangelo, Galileo is another Renaissance great known just by his first name--a name that is synonymous with scientific achievement. Born in Pisa, Italy, in the sixteenth century, Galileo contributed to the era's great rebirth of knowledge. He invented a telescope to observe the heavens. From there, not even the sky was the limit! He turned long-held notions about the universe topsy turvy with his support of a sun-centric solar system. Patricia Brennan Demuth offers a sympathetic portrait of a brilliant man who lived in a time when speaking scientific truth to those in power was still a dangerous proposition"-- Aucune description trouvée dans une bibliothèque |
