Not worth the read. Pretty silly, really. Not even well written. ( )

I enjoyed this book for the most part. I was wondering why it took three people to write such a short book, but I guess they had their reasons. I know it was the coffee that drew me to this book. I was glad that Chelsea was able to forgive her husband in the end and hopefully he had really changed. I was hoping that they would address Katrina's obsession with astrology. Hopefully, she gave that up when she became a Christian. ( )

I try to get my hands on anything written by max Lucado. I collect all of his journals and have all of his books, Just like Jesus, Six Hours One Friday, etc. I admire Max very much, and I love pretty much everything he writes.
This was a first for me along with many others to read something fiction by him, and what a wonderful read it was for sure.
Miracle at the Higher Grounds Cafe is a story about a woman who inherits a coffee shop. The coffee shop becomes a place where people can have one prayer request answered by God. Now just imagine this being for real, what would you ask for? In addition, remember you only get to ask one time.
I love how this book sends many powerful messages that you do not really realize that you are getting because it is a work of fiction, but with many true messages inside this wonderful book.
I recommend this book to everyone, weather you believe in God or not you will not be disappointed in this book at all. It is a great work of fiction by Max. I would love to see more fiction books by Max personally, along with those hidden messages inside.

I received this book free from Zondervan part of the BookLook Bloggers program, for my honest and un-biased opinion. ( )

This is the first book that I've ever read by Max Lucado and I approached it with caution and trepidation. This was primarily because I wasn't quite sure who actually wrote it. There are two names in addition to Lucado's on the cover. In his acknowledgments, Lucado actually credits his book publisher's "Fiction Team" (which consists of many names). I decided to disregard all of this and to just read the book, and I'm really glad that I did. The book covers a lot in such a short span (at under 200 pages, you can read this in a day). The central dilemma that the main character Chelsea faces, is how do we forgive those who have wronged us? I found it ironic that Chelsea approached religion with the same skepticim that I harbored for reading this book because more than Max Lucado seem to author it, but if you actually just let yourself go and jump in - you may be surprised. By the end of the book, I realized that Max Lucado is a great storyteller. I actually had tears in my eyes because it never ceases to amaze me just how much God loves all of us. The way that Lucado weaved it into the story was wonderful. Chelsea realized we're never abandoned and we're never alone. We have to forgive others and ourselves for mistakes to be able to live our lives to the full. I also liked that Lucado had a pastor character in the book who had his own struggles and was able to come to realizations of himself and the role he plays in the community. I'm sure this was drawn from Lucado's own personal experiences. I think that those who have suffered from broken marriages, infidelity and abandonment from a parent would really enjoy this book as these are the things the main character struggles to overcome. I actually don't care who wrote the book now - I'm just glad that I read it.

This book is astounding! My soul has been shaken up, turned upside-down, and completely refreshed after reading this wonderful book. The perspective you are given on angels that are fighting for us every second of every day is mind-blowing! Marriages, people, relationships are healed all through this book. But the wonderful thing is, that doesn't have to be fiction, that can happen in your life if you have faith and believe in God. I am living proof of that, and I hope that you are too. This book shows us the glorious battle that takes place every day for each and every one of us. We don't know what we'll face or how we'll get through it, but with God, nothing is impossible! I ask that you read this book, because afterwards you won't be the same! ( )
