Elizabeth Waring from the Justice Department tries to trap him, and enlists the help of a retired police officer, who is the most interesting character in the novel. ( )
Stop! If you haven't read Perry's Butcher's Boy, read it first. Then grab this one. Ten years after the first book ends, the Butcher's Boy, the world's most successful and feared hit man, has been in hiding in England. He's been careful but a woman arrives about the same time his guard relaxes just a bit and he's recognized. Elizabeth Waring of the Justice Department, who's career was made with the first chase of the Butcher's Boy, is back as well. As usual, Perry's attention to detail and careful character crafting makes this book the excellent read that it is. ( )
