This is an APALA award-winning picture book about a young Asian girl who went on adventures to fill her empty kimchi jar. A young boy who was her best friend and would always fill her jar will her moved away without saying goodbye. The rest of the book Juna's brother tries to help cheer her up by getting her to fill her jar with new things. At the end of the book, she found a new friend to get things for the jar!

I really enjoyed this book. The story is sweet and the illustrations are so cute and unique. They are watercolors and perfectly follow the adventure and creativity of the writing of this book. I think this would be a great book for primary students and good to have in the classroom to ensure there are multiple cultures present.

This book is about a young girl who has a jar, that used to be filled with the families kimchi meal. She used to always play with her best friend. After the sad news of her best friend moving away her brother tried to cheer her up by finding things to put in her jar. She fills is with different animals and creates an imagination of joining into their world and looking for her best friend.

I think this book is great for a young age to read. It helps show the Asian culture with introducing the food and how they ate it in a jar. This book has great imagination and relatable imagination for kids to look at and read. This book is overall very fun and interesting for a kid to read.

I think that this is a good book that helps portray so,Ed aspects of Asian culture, I’m not sure where the author is from, but she does bring in aspects of her culture, along with making this book a fun fantasy for kids to read.
