Good stuff, This book ties a lot of things from different times, different cultures, and different people together to give a coherent chronology of how we got to here. ( )

I never really got interested in this book. I didn't think the chapters were particularly interesting, nor the examples the author provided particularly engrossing. Further, if there was a link between the scientists of the past and modern science, it wasn't very clear to me. Disappointing book. ( )

Mildly interesting. Sort of like [b:A Short History of Nearly Everything|21|A Short History of Nearly Everything|Bill Bryson|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1433086293s/21.jpg|2305997][bc:A Short History of Nearly Everything|21|A Short History of Nearly Everything|Bill Bryson|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1433086293s/21.jpg|2305997] with more depth and less flair. The concepts are too simplified and there really seems to be too much detail about the spheres that were used to explain the orbits. The book did manage to highlight well how limited the scientists were in their understanding when they made discoveries.
If you have a bit of extra time and are interested - go for it. ( )

Plato, Aristoteles, Arkimedes, Ctesibius of Alexandria.
