There are typos, but they do not interfer with the reading of the book, and will not interfere with making the garment included. If you like to know the "why's" of putting garments together, this is for you. The historical method of drafting followed and explained in this book approaches drafting from a completely different perspective- the body's own proportion- than other drafting methods in the same way that learning to play music by the notes ( A,B,C) is different than playing by solfege (do-re-me). Couldn't put it down! ( ) aucune critique | ajouter une critique

The Modern Maker: Men's Doublets is the culmination of many years of research into historical tailoring. Traditionally, stage and screen costumers make these garments without the detailed stretching and sculpting that is the trademark of an old-world tailor. After examining surviving garments and analyzing tailor's pattern books from the era, The Modern Maker presents a simple, detailed method for making a doublet from around the year 1618. You will learn pattern making, hand sewing stitches, interior structuring, how to make a simple button from the time period as well as how to make a buttonhole by hand. In this book, you will learn the principles of efficient hand work. You will also see detailed photos of surviving garments displaying the techniques that are taught. Many of these images have never before been seen. Aucune description trouvée dans une bibliothèque |
