Hero is a huge man-whore for the first part of the book. He says he is making up for having no sex for a couple of years as he had been in prison. The heroine of course overhears his various escapades and witnesses many of them leaving in the morning as they are neighbours. They have a enemies to lovers story as they both argue with each other a lot at the start. I couldn't help wonder if he ever would have changed and noticed the heroine for her worth if his past hadn't come knocking on his door. Heroine dates but they don't go anywhere and are completely unsuccessful. Once they commit properly they are together, no cheating but it does take a while with some pushing away first. No detailed intimate scenes other than the Hero and heroine but the heroine overhears the various other women who are his ONS thought he wall of the flat prior to getting together with him. Lots of secondary characters scenes including a scene relating to Logan, the Hero's ex which links up with his sister story and sees a matter from that book concluded. HEA. Epilogue from various POV. Ever live in an apartment and have the neighbor from hell? Keeps odd hours? Doesn't know the meaning of curfew on loud? Grace has these type of murderous feelings for her hot, playboy neighbor, Logan. One of their porch encounters throws both Logan and Grace together to be united in helping a young teenager who may or may not be Logan's daughter. Samantha Young keeps the story moving through this life changing event for reader with humor, delight, sadness and happiness. Grace's commitment to help Logan has an unlikely friendship develop that leads to something more. "There are moments in life that change us irreparably. Sometimes those moments are grand and dramatic, tragic or beautiful in their intensity. Sometimes those moments are quiet and small, like footsteps fading behind a closed door. The subtlety of those moments can sometimes camouflage their impact. " That quote summaries perfectly the readers journey that is witnessed for the hero, heroine and young teenager, Maia. I felt the characters and their reactions were believable and honest; never over the top angst. My only disappointment was to not hear more of Maia's journey. Both the hero and heroine had overcome impacts early in their lives. This upheaval for Maia had to created some additional issues, but not enough pages in the book. This is the point of the review where I recommend if it can be stand alone. Definitely, until you get to the epilogue. Logan and Grace's story is a wonderful HEA. If you've read the series, there are introductions to previous characters. These introductions are not confusing to someone new to the series until that epilogue. Ms. Young finishes up the Dublin Street gangs stories within; it would be confusing if you haven't read. But as an epilogue isn't necessary for the stories complete closure - you'll know when to stop. Not only was this a great book (I couldn't put it down!) it was a fantastic way to wrap up the series. Seeing everyone again was just awesome. I had high anticipation for Logan's story and I loved it. The slow burning tension kept me hooked. I loved the plot too! It was so sweet! All of the books really have family involved, but this one took it to a different level. I was expecting something with custody to happen towards the end, but was also happy when it did not.
This one was a little slower at times. I still enjoyed it though.
I cannot believe it is over! I still have two novellas, but will be sad when it is done. ( )
