This is a story about a group of field mice who decide to celebrate Mardi Gras. Their celebrations get too carried away and they forget they are mice. When a mouse who isn't dressed up comes along, they think he is a giant mouse. This book is a great story about accepting yourself. The mice forget who they are instead of remembering where they come from and accepting themselves. Trying to become someone else can be scary. ( )

This is the story of mice who are told about Fat Tuesday and use their imagination to create their own Fat Tuesday. ( )

The Greentail Mouse is the story about some field mice living in a wood. One day a city mouse comes by and tells them about Mardi Gras. The field mice decide to celebrate Mardi Gras too. They have a lot of fun until they suddenly forgot that they were field mice and got afraid of each other because of the frightening masks. They decide to make a big fire and burn all the masks. This book could be used to help children to distinguish between what is real and what isn't, and it also could be used to teach about cultural events such as Mardi Gras. ( )

This is a really cute story about some mice who decide to have their own Mardi Gras, but get a little too carried away with their celebration. I really like to think that this book is trying to say be yourself. The mice wore masks that ended up making them scared and suspicious of the others who were not themselves. This is the idea I would like to use this book with to future students. I also think this would be a fun book to read around Mardi Gras in my future class room whether my students also get to enjoy it, or they just get to enjoy learning about it from my experiences. ( )

A group of mice decide to celebrate Fat Tuesday for the first time. In the midst of the fun, they forget who they are as they get lost in the new persona that their masks created. Things become out of control, until one day a little mouse reminds them of who they really are, and they were once again set in the right track. This story not only teaches the importance of being who you are, but also a small look into the unique culture of Mardi Gras. ( )
