It left me wanting more, more Greyson, more Abby, more crew. I really wish we could have gotten all of their stories. Skye & Annika make a great writing team. The blurb won’t clue you in to much of what happens & I can only say, don’t read spoilers. This is best when you learn what happens as Abby does. For a book classified as dark - this was not dark at all. However it was a fun read and I did enjoy it toward the end - it loses stars based on the fact that it did not, in my opinion, fulfill my requirement based on its class. I do, however, look forward to book 2 - I think he'll be way more interesting and perhaps a bit more "dark" than this - it was a lovey story - and there was a certain incident involving a library that was utterly awesome and I will probably re-read that portion of the book because it was spectacular! Good tension in the beginning and an enjoyable enough read. I can't say I ever connected with the characters, which likely saved this book from my wrath, but hurt it too. I just needed something a bit different, and this worked well. There's a whole host in content warnings for this one, so be aware. I'd call it more than dubious consent, prior abuse, captivity. No rating from me bc it isn't a genre I particularly enjoy reading. (So feels a little off to give it a rating, if that makes sense?) I'll just say, it was enough: I enjoyed it, and it was exactly what I needed to read to switch gears aucune critique | ajouter une critique

He seethes with raw power the first time I see him, pure menace and rippling muscles in shackles. He's dangerous. He's wild. He's the most beautiful thing I've ever seen. So, I hide behind my prim glasses and my book like I always do, because I have secrets too. Then he shows up in the prison writing class I have to teach, and he blows me away with his honesty. He tells me secrets in his stories, and it's getting harder to hide mine. I shiver when he gets too close, with only the cuffs and the bars, and the guards holding him back. At night, I can't stop thinking about him in his cell. But, that's the thing about an animal in a cage, you never know when he'll bite. He might use you to escape. He might even pull you into a forest and hold a hand over your mouth so you can't call for the cops. He might make you come so hard, you can't think. And, you might crave him more than your next breath. Aucune description trouvée dans une bibliothèque |
