I loved the fact that each letter is written to his baby sister. The young boy goes through emotional ups and downs of jealousy and pride throughout the story. The book is organized like a scrap book which is really creative. I loved the drawings that looked like the young boy drew them and the little comments on the corners of the pages. This is a precious story and I would highly recommend this book. ( )

Mike is going to be a big brother and is anxious for his little sister to arrive. He writes her letters, so when she grows up she can read his letters to her. But once Erica is born he realizes his parents are giving her most of the attention now. He lets out his frustration and jealousy in his letters to her, but as time goes on, he begins to love being a big brother. The story shows Mike mature and adjust to this change in his life. The illustrations have drawings and photographs that feel realistic. Such a wonderful story that shows the love a young boy comes to having for his sister. This is the perfect book for those who have a new sibling arriving and are afraid of change. ( )

This is a scrapbook an older (I'd peg at 6 years old or so) brother makes for his new baby sister during her first year of life. It covers the ups and downs of having a new sibling in pretty traditional fashion, but the format is unique and engaging -- especially for older kids. ( )
