I enjoyed this book because I like to think of it as a how to book. the first thing I liked was it was broken into sections then each section was broken up into smaller sections. So the first one was wilderness skills then that was broken into seven more sub headings that show you exactly what to do when in the wilderness. the next thing that i liked was within each subsection there was a step by step numbered on what to do if you were in that situation. the illustrations that went with each group was also very detailed that helped out, such as what to do if there is a twister it shows that kids running away. I think the over all message of this book is about things will happen and there is always a way to survive the situation. ( )

I have enjoyed these chapter books since I was a little kid! Jack and Annie go on many adventures, but this book is about how to survive all of those adventures. I liked this book because it is not your typical chapter book, I holds your attention will all the silly things these children get into. Another reason I have always liked these books is because it helps students that do not always like to read. When I was younger I did not like reading but I always gravitated towards these books. I think the purpose of this book is to give information to the student that is reading the book, about all the different plays they visit and the situations they get themselves into.

I loved this book. It was full of real survival information that was geared toward children. It was easy to read and the author was able to keep it interesting so I did not get bored. It would be great for any kid to read especially kids interested in camping or outdoor activities. It would be perfect for kids who already read the Magic Tree House series. ( )

I don't normally read nonfiction books, but I enjoyed this one. One reason I liked it more than I thought is because it is very engaging. There are photographs and language that helps a reader stay interested. For example, the section on how to survive a shark attack begins with, "Imagine you're at the beach and someone screams, 'shark!' People will leap out of the water in half a second!" It goes on to say, "But you are more likely to be hit on the head with a coconut than to be attacked by a shark!" Another reason I liked this chapter book is because of how it is organized. It is broken down into sections that hold common dangerous events. Then, within each section, they are broken down into individual situations and those are broken down into introductions and steps on how to survive it. ( )
