I have read some of Emily March's books and while they have not been my favorite because of the sexual content, I at least liked the plot. Not any more. I just finished reading Luke and this is the last one of hers I will read. I skipped at least 1/4 of the book because of the filth and sensual content. Even the plot (at times) was too far-fetched. After all, this wasn't a fantasy book. I believe in freedom of speech and all that, but I also have the freedom not to spend my time and money on filth. The sad part is that this could easily have been a good clean book. I could easily have overlooked some of the craziness of the plot. ( ) Maddie Kincaid was running for her life. She was told to find Terri, on a yacht in another city, for help. But nobody was there when she finally arrived. Exhausted, she fell asleep in one of the bedrooms. Luke Callahan needed to get away for a while so he headed out on his boat to meet with his brothers for a fishing trip. He was surprised to find Maddie on board and even more concerned when he found out why she was there. Maddie had had quite a life. She was the daughter of a famous rock star and was known as Baby Daggar. It sounds like a great life that everyone would want, but she didn't like being in the public eye all the time, so she ran away several years ago. She moved to a small town and changed her name. Maggie was happy in her new life with her business helping old and infirm people remain in their homes. Everything was going great until she tried to help one of the seniors by getting rid of a bunch of dried mushrooms. A bunch being $4 million worth. Hence the running for her life part. The real owners of the drugs were trying to kill her. The reason she was told to go to Terri was that Terri's roommate was Luke, a DEA agent with many years of undercover experience. You can imagine how he freaked out when Maggie told him that she threw out some of the mushrooms because they wouldn't all fit in her car. This was an incredible romantic suspense. It had everything - mystery, romance, sex, a couple of pets, humor and great characters. aucune critique | ajouter une critique
