This is the novella prequel to Nicole Edwards' Dead Heat Ranch series. Therefore, it is short, sets up the series and sets up the first book and is designed to leave you wanting more. That means that this story is not complete -- not a "cliffhanger" per se, but incomplete.

In this series, there are five sisters (Faith, Hope, Grace, Mercy, and Trinity), so, presumably this will be a five-book series, unless Ms Edwards adds a holiday something-or-other as she did with the Alluring Indulgence series.

If you are unfamiliar with Nicole Edwards, you might need to know she writes romances with erotic scenes and writes of varied relationships -- menages, gay, bisexual and traditional heterosexual -- with couples and threesomes that love each other dearly. If you like the love part and the sexy part, but are not open to threesome or gay relationships, you will need to pick and choose carefully to find the Edwards book that is good for you.

In this prequel, we are introduced to the Dead Heat (Dude) Ranch, owned by a father with five daughters who now operate the ranch under his guidance. What would a ranch be without handsome cowboys/wranglers and beautiful cowgirls?!? This introduction allows us to begin to know about Grace and the two wranglers, Lane and Grant, interested in her and each other.

I volunteered to listen to this audiobook through Audiobook Jukebox. This audiobook is just two and a half hours long for the approximate 100 pages. It was narrated by Vanessa Edwin, J D Franklin and Gus Evans. These narrators did a fine job with their characters/POV and I look forward to listening to them in Betting on Grace, Dead Heat Ranch Book 1
