After The Boy Who Played with Dark Matter, the adventure of Zeddie and his mom continues. Here again you will find a subtle mix of familiar references such as Godzilla, King Arthur, Moriarty, Nessie… Heritage from childhood your imagination will visualize the different scenes and make you smiling! An easy reading and a real page-turner! ( )

In a continuation of “The Boy Who Played with Dark Matter” and his Count of Monte Cristo series, the Holy Ghost Writer continues to put forth an extensively imaginative story. The first chapters played out in Zeddy’s dream help to give some back-story to re-familiarize yourself with the storyline, as well as cast an ominous cloud over what may be to come. Imagery paints a good picture of current surroundings and characters – giving just enough to allow the mind to picture the scene, yet leaving some to be imagined.
As the story carries on it only builds and builds, throwing in more characters, many of which are familiar childhood favourites ... with a twist(!). Turns down tunnels and into other worlds where they continually encounter monsters, dragons, and literary characters keep you unable to guess the sequence of events. One criticism would be that use of so many “Z” characters/names can sometimes leave the mind a bit dizzied; however, you could guess from the title that this might be the scenario.
It’s best read as part of the series and after “The Boy Who Played with Dark Matter” to fully understand the importance of how/why some things tie together. It is very suitable for young minds, and may help to spark interest in some of the literary characters mentioned. The ending leaves you waiting for the next in series, wondering what could possibly come next! ( )
