It meets ones that are too big, too small, have too many pieces, are shy, travel in herds, and one day, seems to find one that fits just right! Until something happens, and the missing piece finds itself alone again.

This is a story that addresses so many issues — being alone and trying to find a friend, understanding why some fit and some don’t, being needy and lonely, becoming fulfilled on one’s own — yet remains a simple parable and does not become preachy. Though ostensibly a children’s book, this is a sweet encouraging story that many of us would do well to revisit. ( )

This book is about a missing piece that is looking for another shape that is missing a piece where he may fit just right. On his journey, he meets a complete O that has no missing parts. He looks for a place so he can become part of the big O but he is already complete. The piece asks how would he roll with him and the Big O response was "perhaps you can roll by your self". With determination and hard word the missing piece starts flipping which turns into more of a flop and his shape starts to change. He can then roll on his own. This is a fictional book with a deep moral meant for more of an older audience. I believe the moral to be that you can always change your self in order to get to where you want to be in life. ( )
