However, I felt that in the author's attempt to honor as many women as possible with this book it became a confusing read and I often found myself turning back a page to make certain that she was talking about the woman I thought she was. This is a minor flaw, and is definitely a must read for anyone interested in comics. Interesting fact: Stan Lee used to write Romance comics for teenage girls! ( )
Though the title may lead you to expect an encyclopedic format, Robbins chooses instead to work chronologically, with each chapter equaling approximately one decade. As such, it becomes a kind of social anthropology of women's societal roles as reflected through the comics. Est une version étendue deFait l'objet d'une version longue dans
