A good companion. but not as action-packed as the other books in the series ( )

Confessions: The Paris Mysteries continues the story of Tandy and the Angel family. Tandy has successfully proven the innocence of her brother, Matthew, and her entire family has moved to Paris, where Tandy starts to learn more about her past including her grandmother and her dead sister, Katherine. Tandy confronts many problems including her love for James and the mystery of her family. Paris gives her some answers, but also raises more questions about who she can trust and who her real friends are.
This book was a quick read with lots of action and suspense. My continuing complaint with this series is how much the narrative jumps from one story line to another and the abrupt changes that seem to come out of nowhere. The story; however, is still interesting and keeps my attention throughout the books. I'm anxious to read Confessions: The Murder of an Angel. ( )

I have mixed feelings about this book. As always, it was an engaging and easy read. It was fast paced and hard to put down. However, I accurately predicted some of the plot and I'm not sure if it is because it was predictable or because I've read so many books by James Patterson that I know his writing style. Or some combination of the two.

I love and can't stand Tandy in this book. She should have been more suspecting of James but at the same time, he was her first boyfriend and she didn't have any dating guidance growing up. So it is possible to excuse her from her first dating experience. Although it could have been more condensed in the book. I love the way she doesn't take no for an answer and is constantly doing things her way, and wants to solve all of her life's mysteries.

Katherine. Now that was a twist. I did see it coming but I was happy with it all the same.

Jacob. I still can't completely get a feel on him. Is he working for Peter? Does he have the Angel kids' best interests at heart? Something makes me suspicious but I'm not sure why.

Harry. Harry is an enigma in my mind. He is an extremely talented musician but he is taking that too far by getting into drugs and partying. With all the drugs that their parents put them on, you would think that Harry would be smart enough to not try anymore. But apparently not. Hopefully he pulls it together. The real question is one that Tandy posed to herself. Was Harry ever actually on the pills from their parents or was he the control test to Tandy's experimental?

4/5 stars for me on this book

SPOILERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Here are some questions I have after reading this book. Do not read if you do not want things given away!

Was Harry on a placebo pill?
Why did Katherine never try to contact the Angel kids?
Who is her baby daddy?
Is Jacob on the Angel kids side or Peter's?
What happened to the other families who were "forced" to have their kids be on the experimental pills?
Does James actually love Tandy or was the whole thing a trick?
Will Tandy tell Harry about C.P.?
Why did Peter try to kill Katherine?
Is he trying to kill the other Angel kids?
We've had 3 of the 4 Angel kids arrested and/or interrogated...is Hugo next? ( )

4.5/5

This is really turning out to be a pretty good series. I initially thought it would be a trilogy until I looked it up and saw a fourth book is due out this year...then I get to the end of the book and it confirms it for me. Hopefully, by the time it comes out, I won't be in the middle of another series! Lol

But, as much as, I'm loving this series, I hope it's not in true James Patterson form and have a ton of books in the series...more than five, I may start losing interest...and I do love the family in this book. One of them is kind of out there...but one thing I notice about the little I read of ONE of the Maximum Ride books and these books (Confessions Series),the young boys, are overly loud and aggressive....I like the kid, and I do understand he is just a kid but it can be a bit much...but I guess there are kids out in the world like that....heck, I see adults like that, so I guess it starts some where..lol...

I won't say that I will go into his adult series and finish them all, but, I can say I'm willing to try...it's hard for me to get into most male authors...but the ones I find that I've liked and finish their books, I keep trying...like, Frank Peretti, Ted Dekker and James Patterson...now yes, the first two,I haven't found many I've been able to stick with but I keep trying and hoping...

It was a bit harder for me to get into this one, even with th audio but once I did, it kept my attention. I'm looking forward to the next one. Hopefully I'll be able to get into it a little easier than this one..

Of the three so far....Confessions of a Murder Suspect is still my favorite. ( )
