LOL jk.... still loved it. ( ) The biggest problem for me in [b:Bender|21971980|Bender (The Core Four, #1)|Stacy Borel|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1398171747s/21971980.jpg|40901308] were the main characters: Keegan and Camden. Keegan is whiny and so insecure it just made me cringe. I get that a girl can be a little self-conscious about her body (who wasn't/isn't) but too much is too much! All the more if that self-consciousness seems to be just an excuse to gain sympathy from others...get a grip girl! Another 'funny' thing about Keegan is that she thinks of herself as more mature than her age but, when it counts, she doesn't show it at all! Camden is an asshole, plain and simple! At the beginning he's very rude and distant to Keegan but still he acts all jealous and possessive when she mets someone new. He tries to control everything and everyone around him without any logical reason but mostly without even trying to offering one. Probably the author tried to make him all alpha-male but the result was just plain-asshole...unfortunately it's something that occurs more and more often in books! Another thing that irks me -and that obviously couldn't miss in Camden's repertoire- is the random act of spanking during sex...Why??? Is it really necessary?? In my humble opinion, in this story (Camden's ego notwithstanding), was a totally avoidable scene. Finally, why that cover? It's just me or it doesn't fit Camden's image at all?! I'm sorry, but I really didn't like this book! Keegan & Camden start as roommates and move forward as more. I enjoyed this story despite the negativity that Camden created. I know that some people just find him to be an ass and nothing more, but everyone is hiding something and his emotions run deep. Keegan is very much a naive college girl who is looking to get back at her mom by moving out of her house. I think there were places that more of the story could have been developed, but overall I really liked the story and can't wait to read more about the Brooks Brothers. aucune critique | ajouter une critique
All Keegan wanted was a roommate who was quiet, minded his or her own business, and paid for part of the rent. Instead, she got Camden Brooks. Camden, with his sinful body, sharp tongue, and the inability to stay out of Keegan's personal space, couldn't seem to curb his interest in the new girl who wouldn't put up with his domineering ways. Feelings were running rampant, sexual tension was thick, and both were struggling to let go of control. To some people, getting a roommate simply meant living with another person. But for Camden and Keegan, it was a curveball that neither was prepared to swing at. Contains mature themes. Aucune description trouvée dans une bibliothèque |
