This is a great book that teaches students and young children to include all friends and to invite others to play together. ( )

Little Quack’s New Friend is a picture book about Little Quack the duck who plays with Little Ribbit the Frog even though he is different from Quack and his siblings. The story is about friendship. I love this story! Even though it’s a picture book, I actually bought it at a Scholastic Book Fair in eighth grade because ducks are my favorite animals. One thing that I really love about this book is the plot. I love that Little Quack accepts Little Ribbit right away and that all of Quack’s sibling decide to play with them and realize that it is ok to have friends who are different. Another thing I love about this book is the illustrations. All of the illustrations are large and very vibrantly colored. I also love the personification of the ducks because ducks are my favorite animals. ( )

The book starts out telling us about Little Quack's family. He has four siblings. A frog jumped out from behind a rock and wanted to play. Only Little Quack played with the frog and splashed water all over the place. Then they went to the mud, and got a little messy. Then all of the Quacks wanted to play and that day they all made new friends. ( )

This colorful board book is about Little Quack and his new froggy friend who even though he is different, and not a duck, the two show that they can just as much fun as the duck siblings. This book almost has a little moral that everyone can play together. The illustrations are bright and fun and the text is written so that little ones can hear the fun. For example, "Splishy, sploshy, splish!" It is just as fun to read as it is to listen to. I would recommend this book for children ages 2-5. I would also recommend this board book for my library. ( )
