They work to catch a serial killer who acts as a vigilante. The writing is very basic, the plot line is acceptable; no surprises. I got this for free on Kindle in 2015. 305 pages ( ) This novel looks promising with all the necessary ingredients for a psychological thriller, a psychotic serial killer with boy-next-door looks, a kidnapped girl, an unlikely husband-wife pair of private investigators, and so on. Still, it lacks that 'something' which could have made it from being ordinary to being extraordinary. It is a quick read which doesn't tax the reader much. The writing was without typos but in need of editing away superfluous details. I think this was long winded in an attempt to create convincing characters. I was not convinced by the characters and I found them shallow. The plot meandered, as an investigation might indeed. The meander decreased the book's credibility. I'm amazed at the lapses e.g. a supposed child's footprints packing down the grave but nobody follows up on a child as a line of enquiry. This was quite an enjoyable book about a young girl who got accidentally caught up in a murder. The main characters were two Private investigators who had been engaged to help the police find the murderer who was also holding the young girl. Not a huge page turner and it didn't keep me on the edge of my seat but the story was good and had a reasonable ending. Quite a passable holiday read and no doubt I shall read further books in this series. I just finished reading this book and I really liked it. The "bad guy" wasn't your average bad guy. I like Annie and Jake as a couple. They are very realistic as far as characters go. I thought this book was great, just wish that I would have read it sooner! Thanks Rayven Hill for writing such a great book!! aucune critique | ajouter une critique
