As the day goes by, Each student is recognized. It is in alphabetical order of animals. Most of the letters went along with the first letter of each animal. This book shoes how exciting children are on field trips. Also, it shows how worried they can be when they lose someone. This story teaches rhyme, shapes, alphabet, and animals. ( ) Summary: A book about Miss Bindergarten and her Kindergarten class taking a field trip to explore the exciting places around time. They go to a bakery, fire station, post office, library, and park. At each place, the students discover something new or able to participate in an exciting new activity. The end of the book shows a page with a discovery of different shapes represented in the book. Personal Reflection: This is a cute story about getting back into the community to discover new things and new places. The book uses colorful and humorous illustrations that capture the reader’s eye and an anticipation of where they might go next. The text in the book rhymes nicely making it an easy to read the book. A fun book to read before a field trip, especially with Kindergarteners! Curriculum Connection: This book can be read before taking a field trip with Kindergarten students to discuss the various things they might learn and see. It can also be used in the Preschool and Kindergarten classroom to explore the different shapes that are in the illustrations. The concept is good, I'll admit. Exhibiting places in the community a preschool might go on a field trip, this book can be used to talk about alphabet and shapes. I just didn't enjoy it, I didn't care for the execution, the rhymes were a bit forced and while they would almost start to flow on some spreads, the format of the book each time killed it with the stupid interrupting "Next Miss Bindergarten ..." pages. At the end there is a page where you can question your toddler about the shapes observed. The second time I read it (at the request of my son) was very painful. I can see that some parents might like it and/or find it helpful for discussing concepts, but I'm not taking to these Miss Bindergarten books at the moment, they're just way too tedious for my taste. aucune critique | ajouter une critique
