*I won this book via the Goodreads First Reads giveaways*

This was a VERY well written book. Renard's phrasing is incredible, and although this was one of the tougher reads I've had in a while, it was well worth it. My heart ached for Tom and how much he was misunderstood. I really enjoyed how it read as a work of non-fiction, instead of the historical fiction that it was. After hearing that it took Renard over 8 years to finally get this published, I can see where this book was a true labour of love. Very deep and emotional read, for sure. ( )
