There are certain things that can only be truly enjoyed by a child. Being naked is one of them. For this youngster fresh out of his bath there is something glorious and fun about being sans clothing, be it while eating a cookie, wearing a cape, or dancing the Hokey Pokey.

For those of us with children filled with just a smidge extra energy, this book really hits home. Black has once again managed to encapsulate childhood in a picture book as his young hero flurries from bath to snacks to capes to, oh thank goodness, finally sleep. Art matches story as illustrator Debbie Ohi conjures artistic motion capture to show us this adorable whirling, twirling, streaking dervish, and his ever-patient mum.

Share this book with your kids (and your friends), chuckle a bit to yourselves and then run out to your local bookstore or library and pick up all of this duo’s books, the newest of which, I’m Worried, arrives early next month.

This wonderful, enjoyable read-aloud celebrates the joys of being naked—naked, naked, naked. The wide-mouthed boy in this picture book eats (several) cookies-naked, slides down the stairs-naked, and dreams of going to school, doing the hokey pokey, and playing on the playground-naked. Children will easily identify with this sometimes-caped crusader and his patient parents, and giggle every time the word “Naked!” is read aloud. Be prepared to read it aloud many times as giggling, smiling children enthusiastically shout, “read it again”.

Naked ! by Michael Ian Black
Children's audio book comes with a bonus page. Silly story of why he likes to be without clothes when he finds something else he likes better.
Goes through different pages of doing things while he's naked. Til he discovers he is cold...
I received this book from National Library Service for my BARD (Braille Audio Reading Device). ( )

Everyone enjoys being naked until they happen upon a cape and then get cold from all that running around. Very cute...though I doubt a kid is going to be ready for bed after reading this one. They'd probably just want to run around naked. ( )
