Includes maps, timeline, many side bars, bibliography Nelson Mandela was an extremely important man for South Africa. Nelson Mandela was born in 1918. He helped many people in many parts of South Africa. Yet at the same time a lot of people died while helping him protest against the British government trying to help black people get equal rights again. He was put into jail multiple times and after his last time he served as a president. He was the first black president at the time. Nelson Mandela won a Nobel Peace Prize while doing all of this. He also lived for 95 years. On December 3 2013 he died. I really liked this book because it really hooks you from the very start. Later on its extremely hard to put down and it keeps you up thinking if you should be reading. I could barely put it down. One time I stayed up until 10:00pm still reading it. I always looked forward to reading. I would really recommend this book to people that might want to read a nonfiction book. Nelson Mandela was a very good example of standing up for what you believe in even though it might cost something very important to you. That's why I recommend this book to anybody interested. Who Was Nelson Mandela? by Meg Belviso, Pamela D. Pollack, Stephen Marchesi (Illustrator) is packed with lots of personal information that I never knew about Mr Mandela, esp. his younger years. Very interesting book about his life and the book is long too, over 100 pages with great sketches scattered throughout. I was amazed at how little I did know about a man so famous. This is a middle grade/teen book but adults will love this book too. I got this from the library but if I had the money, all these books would be keepers! aucune critique | ajouter une critique
