I think if I read this book 2 years ago when I bought it, I would have enjoyed it more.
Everything just felt so cliched to me. Both characters were similar to ones I have encountered before so nothing felt totally new. Perhaps if I delved deeper into the story, they would have evolved more. I think having alternating POVs would have helped too because I didn't really enjoy Shannon as a character so I didn't enjoy reading her POV that much.
Shannon learns about her cheating fiance in chapter 1 and she is rightfully angry and angsty about the whole situation. But that's all that seemed to be happening! She was a bit of a broken record in the first 3 chapters, moaning on and on about it. Which I get, I mean you walked in on your fiance but I wanted something else to happen.
Maybe it would have evolved more. I mean, Chapter 4 was 41 pages on my Kobo (the previous chapters had been 10-15) so something was bound to happen. But it just didn't capture my attention like I wanted to and at this point I need to be intrigued by my NA reads and characters.
