In this book, Brier sets out to uncover the actual physical techniques of mummification. He does this through attempting to carry out the process on a recently deceased cadaver. A very entertaining look at mummification which frequently slides off into other topics of interest such as the history behind the deciphering of heiroglyphics. ( )

I checked this book out of the library while researching my novel, "Cursed!" I ended up only reading parts of it - I'm pretty sure this is the book that starts out with the author trying to find a cadaver to mummify, to see how the ancient techniques actually worked. ( )
