Will Hopper, the kinderbunnies, and Mr. Spumoni find a way to create a haunted house that will be fun for everyone?
=========
Young readers are sure to meet up with the Grumpy Bunny at some point in their early school years; currently, there are twenty-three Grumpy Bunny stories, each with its special, gentle message for the young. In “Spooky Night,” Hopper learns that working with others can create wonderful things and that it’s possible for a spooky night to be fun-filled, especially when shared with his friends.
The targeted audience, young readers ages five and six [kindergarten and first grade], are sure to relate to the kinderbunnies' excitement and their anticipation as they look forward to the Halloween celebration. [And, they’ll surely want to share their own Halloween stories.]
Charming, colorful illustrations accompany the narrative; young readers will have fun identifying the Halloween-associated illustrations. And, when they reach the end of the story, they will discover the true meaning of Halloween.
Highly recommended. ( )
