Do not recommend for anyone who wishes to keep a pure mind. ( ) One night David Malone needs to have a break from his girlfriend Sophie when he finds out she has been unfaithful to him. He decides to go for a drive and meets by accident the beautiful and unpredictable Jane. There follows a steamy romantic interlude and when Jane is discovered dead Malone embarks on a course to reveal her killer and in so doing unleashes a spiders web of deceit, mayhem and murder. This is a fast fun read but with a list of characters I felt little sympathy for and a story line that is a little too pretentious and extreme to be taken seriously. I was pleased that I was able to require this book at a reduced "kindle" price (for a very limited period) as the present cost on Amazon is exorbitant (slightly under £12) and perhaps therefore a more appropriate description should be "highway robbery" First novel I have read by Harry Dolan, the third in a series about a character named David Loogan. This story is a prequel to the first two, and tells the story of when he lived in Rome, NY, when he meets a young woman, falls in love, and his life is suddenly uprooted. Can't really say more, but this book offers a few shocking twists and is a great mystery/thriller. While some reviewers say this books is his best work to date, I still plan to read the first two simply because the quality of his writing is excellent. Best book yet by Dolan. It's the story of David Loogan before he became Loogan. A time when he met a girl, fell in love and killed because of her. David Malone meets Jana, a woman he develops a relationship with and who is killed shortly after they meet. Jana takes secrets with her when she dies and David, who is a suspect in her murder for a brief time, and David needs to find out what they are. There are twists and turns in this book and you can't really be sure who kills Jana till almost the end of the story. Dolan just gets better with each novel he writes. aucune critique | ajouter une critique

"David Loogan's dark past is revealed in this prequel to 'Bad Things Happen' ... On a rainy night in April, a chance encounter on a lonely road draws David into a romance with Jana Fletcher, a beautiful young law student. Jana is an enigma: living in a run-down apartment and sporting a bruise on her cheek that she refuses to explain. David would like to know her secrets, but he lets them lie--until it's too late. When Jana is brutally murdered, the police consider David a prime suspect. But as he sets out to uncover the truth about Jana, he begins to realize he's treading a very dangerous path--and that her killer is watching every move he makes."-- Aucune description trouvée dans une bibliothèque |
