Like most of the other reviews I am going to give this a low rating and say that this is nothing more than a rehash of the original Dracula novel set from Renfield's point of view. It offers nothing new and since most of us (hopefully) have read the original Dracula novel, this book was very tedious to read and extremely predictable.
I particularly didn't like the fact that she put Renfield on par with Dracula. No no no no no! Read your own title sweetie. ( )

Both a nod to the original Dracula, and an example of Barbara Hambly's excellent knack for historical fiction. Kind of overblown, but true to the genre that way. ( )
