"Chloe didn't think about it much when she nodded off in study hall on that sleepy summer day. But when she wakes up, snow is on the ground and she can't remember the last six months of her life. Before, she'd been a mediocre student. Now, she's on track for valedictorian and being recruited by Ivy League schools. Before, she never had a chance with super jock Blake. Now he's her boyfriend. Before, she and Maggie were inseparable. Now her best friend won't speak to her. What happened to her? And why can't she remember?"--… (plus d'informations)

This love story--mystery was a nice read that I found myself really enjoying.

Please forgive any typos. Learning to use screen reader. ( )

I see a lot of reviews complaining about Chloe. While she's not the best character I've ever read, I certainly didn't hate her either. The point to why she didn't ask anyone but Adam and Chloe was that she didn't trust anyone else. And while she could have pushed them father to tell her what was going on, Maggie only knew that there was something fishy going on with the study group and it had made her best friend mean. Furthermore, because it took so much work for Chloe to even get Maggie to talk to her again, I think it makes sense that she would be afraid to push her too hard

As for Adam, Chloe did push him pretty hard, but he was good at dodging her questions and it's not as though he would tell her what was going on since he was in on it the whole time. I will say that I suspected him pretty early on just because we were supposed to trust him.

The only other thing I found really bizarre was that Chloe was invited to interview at her two top schools (wait, do you have to interview to get into undergrad?) While she was still complaining about her applications. I was kind of assuming that the interview is like an audition to for a music major, where you first have to get accepted to the university, than audition to get into the college of music, and then be accepted into the college of music. But in no world are you invited to interview for your college of choice before you've even submitted your application to the university. And Chloe and her parents treated the invitation as though it guaranteed Chloe was accepted when (at least for musicians) you cannot safely consider yourself accepted until you have the college of music's acception letter in your hand. But this, while confusing, was not a huge part of the plot, so it didn't distract me that much.

Overall I found this to be a fun and entertaining read, but not necessarily a work of great literature. ( )

Publisher's Blurb:
"She Has Everything She Ever Wanted. But Not Her Memory...
When Chloe fell asleep in study hall, it was the middle of May. When she wakes up, snow is on the ground and she can't remember the last six months of her life.
Remembering the truth could be more dangerous than she knows..."

My comments:
Borrowed as an e-book from ERL. What if you fall asleep and when you wake up 6 months of your life have happened and you cant remember anything at all? Your grades are better, you are dating the hottest boy in school, and life seems perfect except that your best friend isn't talking to you.. A mystery with a bit of two boys romance going on. I loved how the main character in typical teenage fashion doesn't tell anyone she has lost her memory until she can't bluff her way out of a bad situation and she needs to come clean...and even when she does, some others don't believe her. Year 9-10 girls will love this book. ( )

This book was a lot different than what I thought it would be. The mystery behind Chloe's memory loss was crazy! This was interesting, although I was a little frustrated with Chloe at first because she didn't tell anyone what was going on. I would be freaking out if I lost 6 months of my life. I really liked Adam and how he cared for Chloe. Not a bad read. ( )

Well, I'm impressed! Six Months Later was quite the book, and it made short work of drawing me in from the very beginning. Is there anything more terrifying than waking up with no memory of the past six months? For Chloe that's a reality. From the moment she awakens, you're right there with her. Terror and all. It was an intense start to a book that wouldn't let me go until I finished. As I said, I'm totally impressed.

What struck me most, besides the amazing opening of course, was how well built this whole book really is. Chloe's life slowly comes to light as the book progresses. You find out the type of person she once was, compared starkly against the person she became when she could no longer control herself. Despite the fact that Chloe was a wreck the majority of the novel (and who can blame her really) she's easy to fall into step with. I had no problem learning about the time she had lost, right along with her.

Even the supporting characters are enjoyable. Adam stole my heart, with his outwardly tough demeanor and sweet heart. He isn't your typical "bad boy" character, and I liked that. He was a perfect fit. Then there was Maggie, who quite honestly is the epitome of the friend we all want. I can't say too much more without spoiling anything, but I can promise you that she plays just as important of a role as the other characters. In fact, that's what I liked most. Each character is just as important to the plot as the next.

I have to admit that I did figure out the plot twist, probably before I was supposed to. However I can happily admit that it didn't take away from my enjoyment of this book at all! It's a solidly built thriller. Even when things slowed down a bit, there were still little clues being thrown out. Pair that with gorgeously built characters, and you have an excellent read. If you're a fan of thrillers, this is a book to check out. I wasn't sure about Six Months Later at first, but it totally hooked me. I know that it will do the same for you!
