Sophie Aldred isn't the best with other peoples voices, but she kept the pace up with her reading. ( ) Ace and the Seventh Doctor arrive on Tarsus Six to find a world rushing to escape devastation. The sun of Tarsus Six is a red giant and has already devoured the planet’s five siblings. The last ship of evacuees is getting ready to go—once the planet is consumed, it will send out a shockwave that will destroy everything else in its path. The Doctor is not on board to stop the planet from being destroyed; rather, he is in quest of something else. But it won’t be of much use if they are killed in the blast. This adventure certainly suits the Seventh Doctor, who is a bit mysterious and Machiavellian at times. Sophie Aldred, who played Ace on the show, does most of the voices, including an attempt at the Doctor’s occasional Scottish accent. I have to watch more Seven episodes to figure out how much of an accent he has (I always thought he downplayed it, but my memory is faulty). Ian Brooker plays Captain Owen, the head of the evacuee ship. He has a suitably authoritative voice for his role but not much to work with. These little Destiny of the Doctor stories are too short for much in the way of character development, and the plots are simple. They all tie together and would perhaps work best listened to in one long binge. aucune critique | ajouter une critique
