Brown honey in broomwheat tea is a very family oriented, fiction book. It is a poetic book but still is able to tell a story. The author is Joyce Carol Thomas. This book would be good for promoting being comfortable with yourself and to promote being close with family. I liked this book because it was very deep and descriptive. ( )

This collection of poems is centered around a tea called broom wheat. The little girl expresses how the tea makes them feel during different times in the lives. It shows the strength of this family and also show how close they are. ( )

I was very confused throughout this book. I am not good at interpreting poetry so the book did not make much sense to me.
