Dina och ann vaknade ögonblickligen. Skräckslagna satte de sig upp i sina sängar. Vad hade hänt? Varför skrek Filip? De öppnade dörren och Dina kikade ut.
- Vad är det som hänt, undrade hon förskräckt.
- Stå stilla, hördes en mörk stämma och i samma ögonblick lyste en ficklampa på dem...

This was the last one for me and, quite possibly, it might have been my favorite. I love the independence that these children show -- they stick together, they think together, and they don't fret ... they do. This is a great series for a child to learn that they can do for themselves, at least for some of the time!

Ah, I was so looking forward to to this book after enjoying [[Five Children and It]] so very much. "Five" has wit and intelligence, whimsy and plain good writing. The present book is choppy and dull by comparison. Still, it has a plot, and I can see how I might have enjoyed it when I was very young. I wonder if kids enoy his series now? I'll try another some day, to give it another chance. ( )
