This book did a great job of explaining Walt Disney’s accomplishments where he’s from, how his artistic talents developed, and his dedication to hard work. I learned that Snow White was the first full-length cartoon movie. This book helped give me a big overview of everything he did and all that the Disney Brand put out. I think this book will interest children because all children are exposed to Disney in one way or another. ( )

This book was a very easy read. I think it will be great for children in preschool to understand. Maybe even having some Disney stuffed animals as a read aloud can make the story more intriguing for the children. Before I knew who Walt Disney was, I did not know Disney was someone's actual name. I think he is so successful and brilliant. I liked how this book included fun/random facts about Disney on every page. This can give the reader more knowledge about Walt Disney. I find it helpful that at the end of the book, it has vocabulary words with the definitions that may not be familiar for kids who are in preschool. ( )

I love this book! Disney is very close to my heart so that’s my bias to this biography. The life of Walt Disney is the main idea of this book. Walt was an incredible man with many dreams and a powerful imagination. The book used pictures of his childhood and his animation studio, which I enjoyed viewing. All the pictures are in black and white until the colored TV shows came around. The book also displays his art work for his first cartoon “Steamboat Willie.” Throughout the book there are captions explaining the pictures as well as vocabulary. The book includes a glossary to define the bolded terms. For example, “He and his brother Roy started their own animation studio” (p.13). Having the glossary is a great way to clarify unknown terms. Fast facts also allow added information to be given after the page entry. One fast fact states, “Walt said Disneyland would never be finished” (p.25). There is a timeline in the back of the book that summaries the information learned and places it neatly along the bottom of the page. This is an awesome read for Disney lovers everywhere. ( )

The book dives deep into a specific ambitious artist’s collection of work and his biography. Enjoying reading fast facts about Walt Disney, I enjoyed reading this book. Specifically, I admired the engaging activities each page had to offer. Each page provided an authentic photo of either Walt Disney to simple, colorful photos, along with fast facts, poetry by Walt, timelines, and self-activities for at home. In relation to the self-activities, readers were motivated to become artists themselves. The in depth text of Walt Disney appeared accurate. I noticed all the information about Walt Disney was centered on his strengths and no weaknesses; therefore, I believe some of his weaknesses should had been presented to relate closer to children. Overall, I liked how the book encouraged young readers to interact with page activities. ( )

I enjoyed this biography about Walt Disney. The main purpose of this text was to inform readers about Walt Disney and his life. I liked the features that the author incorporated and the illustrations used to achieve the author's purpose.
The text included various extra features such as a glossary, a poem, a table of contents, and fun facts. I believe these extra features made the text more interesting and appealing. I especially enjoyed that the book listed a website that readers could use to find more information on Walt Disney.
I liked the illustrations because I feel they were appropriate for the story and enhanced the story. For example, the text included an illustration from Disney's "Steamboat Movie" that accompanied the page that described the movie. ( )
