Great novella follow-up to American Gods that opens up whole new avenues of inquiry for Shadow and related characters from AG. ( )

An 'American Gods' spin off novella which has Shadow getting mixed up in an ageless fight between Scottish monsters and those who want to keep them in their place.

All the usual Neil Gaiman excellence.

Available as a stand alone novella, as part of the 'Fragile Things' collection and also included in the Kindle edition of 'American Gods'. ( )

interesting, achieved narrative transport, satisfying ending. Enjoyed reading. ( )

Now THIS is a Shadow story.

Not sure why he allowed himself to be dragged into this mess in the first place. But can hardly complain because we have this novella. Some of the more recent review mention it as included in some American Gods editions. That's excellent! Because it reads a lot like an epilogue to AG.

(this novella is much better then Black Dog one, btw. Shadow is not himself in that one.) ( )

Short story sequel to American Gods. Appreciated the short re-cap at the beginning, as it's been some time since I've read AG. I enjoyed this little nugget of a story, and it's a total coincidence that the day that I listened to it is the same day that they announced the American Gods Series.

Audiobook notes - I've scoured the internet, and cannot find who the unidentified female narrator is. She sounds familiar, and handled the Scottish accents well, but her pacing was off quite a bit, especially in the dialogue parts. A couple of times I checked my player to make sure that it hadn't gotten switched to 2x speed. ( )
