A great deal of similarity to other books talking about three act structure. Decent. ( ) This was a good pick from my local library. The premise is that there are, namely, physics that stories can follow (like in an equation) that can make them better and ensure that they have an ameliorated chance of success. The examples provided at the end of the book, which I read The Help and The Hunger Games for, are a good analysis of the principles outlined in the book, which gives them weight. Overall, I thought this was an enlightening book. 4 stars. I loved Larry Brooks' original book, Story Engineering, and was looking forward to the publication of this book. But I can understand why Larry Brooks is not everyone's favourite. He has a tendency to be repetitive in hammering home his arguments, which can be a little irritating at times; and probably more so in this book than his original. However, the value of the content outweighs his somewhat over-zealous style. I'm sure there are some valuable points that any writer can take away from this book. aucune critique | ajouter une critique
