This is a Christmas poem that is very iconic and everybody knows this poem. The reason why this is so well know is because of the beauty of this poem. It rhymes and describes the setting, and the characters in way where we feel like were there. Out of all the books I've read so far this semester I think that this book has the best illustrations I've ever seen. The illustrations are so beautiful and realistic. ( ) Summary: This book is about Christmas Eve and children are excited for Santa's gifts! Santa's reindeer land on the roof and he enters through the chimney to deliver the presents. Santa then leaves wishing everyone a merry Christmas and a good night! Personal reaction: I loved reading this as a child so it brought back warm memories of Christmas time! Classroom extensions: I would use this book right before Christmas break. I would have children come up with ideas to of how Santa magically fits through the chimney. I would also have the children come up with ideas of what they would like to give this time of year instead of receive to get them in a Christmas spirit! The Night Before Christmas is the classic Christmas tale of Clement C. Moore’s poem “Twas the Night Before Christmas.” The traditional story is a child’s fantasy of familiar characters, magical elements, and abounding décor. The enchanting illustrations are full page spreads with vibrant dark blue and red hues. The art is made of chalk and pencil drawings. The details of the snowy scenery, chimney smoke, and snow footprints keep the reader’s attention. Children recognize the regular sequence of rhyming words and begin to predict the storyline. All elements of the pattered language contribute to the success of this astounding picture book. aucune critique | ajouter une critique
