"Gustav and the nightmare vault" is about a girl named "Fernie" and a boy "Gustav". Fernie has an older sister named "Pearlie" and a father. Gustav's family are just shadows. The 2 friends are trying to get to the nightmare vault before "October" does. They are traveling in Gustav's infinity house for hours and being chased by October, the shadow eater. Since October is a shadow eater, the kids came up with a plan to stop October. They found glass spheres and wrapped them in tin foil and put it in his mouth which got the shadows out of his mouth. And after that the kids figured out that the nightmare vault was under the bed and put October in it.

I thought this book was interesting and an adventures book. I would recommend this book for kids and I hope they will enjoy it. But I would suggest to read the first book.

A genuinely scary and very strange book, the second installment in the Gustav Gloom series was even better than the first. I still hate the illustrations, though. ( )
