It's always been a refuge for her and her family. She also wants to investigate Ben's disappearance at sea. Everyone blames a surfing accident, but Amy has reason to wonder.

Coast Guard officer Curtis Ireland has lost a sibling too. His sister, Gina, was run down by a boat, leaving him to raise her infant daughter. Title: Rosemary Cottage (The Hope Beach Series #2)
Author: Colleen Coble
Pages: 328
Year: 2013
Publisher: Thomas Nelson
My rating: 5 out of 5 stars.
What an exciting read! Colleen Coble shares a tale of redemption, hope, faith, love and healing in the second installment of the Hope Beach series. One of the main characters is Amy Lang who follows her heart and trains to be a midwife in the Outer Banks of North Carolina. Many summers she has spent surfing, swimming and playing with her brother, Ben, when they were children, staying at Rosemary Cottage.
Recently, Amy lost her brother Ben and returns to the beach to heal and find out the truth of what really happened to her brother. Amy wouldn’t have questioned what happened to Ben if not for an email she was sent that cryptically hinted that something else may have happened to him. Curtis Ireland is a Coastie and also a resident of the outer banks, and he has a secret that might just change Amy’s future.
In a thrilling story, audiences will journey to the truth that at first doesn’t appear to set people free from the secrets that bind their hearts. As I turned the pages, I enjoyed how Colleen reveals the intricate personalities of her characters, the back story, and how one life touches another for good or ill. The thread of faith runs throughout the novel, and it pulls in the reader from the first page until the very last. I loved how secrets that find the light of truth can lead to healing, hope, sometimes pain but in the end all can be made well.
I look forward to reading the last book in the series Seagrass Pier. I did find it helpful to read the first book in the series, Tidewater Inn. Enjoy!

This author has just the right touch of mystery, intrigue, danger and romance! She keeps you guessing and wondering what will happen next. This is a story of two grieving people who will help each other find answers to the death of their loved ones.

Amy Lange is mourning her brother Ben, who died while surfing around the Outer Banks She has decided to move back to the seaside community of Hope Beach and try to figure out how and why her brother has died. Coast Guard officer Curtis Ireland has lost his sister, Gina in a boating accident, leaving him to raise her infant daughter, Raine. Both of these "accidents" need further investigation and when Amy starts to dig deeper into what happened they both will uncover deadly secrets. Who is Raine's real father? Curtis thinks he knows, but will sharing what he knows cause him to lose this little girl.

I found myself surprised by a few things that happened during this story. But I very much enjoyed the spark between Curtis and Amy and watching them work together to solve this mystery. This could easily be read as a stand alone story, but it is book two in the Hope Beach series, and if you read book one first, ("Tidewater Inn"), you will get to see them in this story also. ( )

Wonderful Christian mystery with great characters and a nicely developed plot. I didn't read the first in the series but I felt that Rosemary Cottage was totally complete, a standalone.

Amy had just lost her brother. She didn't feel it was an accident as the authorities, her family and her friends were telling her. She goes back to the island where she and her brother used to spend summers at Rosemary Cottage. This is where her brother was supposedly attacked by a shark.

Curtis is raising his niece after his sister died just a few months before. It was supposedly a random boating accident and Curtis believes this. He saw it after all.

There are secrets to uncover, anger to overcome and a chilling finish. Everything a great mystery needs is contained in these pages. ( )
