Dante has a shiny new cuff wrapped around his ankle, and he doesn't like that mess one bit. His new accessory comes straight from Big Guy himself and marks the former demon as a liberator. Despite his gritty past and bad boy ways, Dante Walker has been granted a second chance. When Dante is given his first mission as a liberator to save the soul of seventeen-year-old Aspen, he knows he's got this. But Aspen reminds him of the rebellious life he used to live and is making it difficult to resist sinful temptations. Though Dante is committed to living clean for his girlfriend Charlie, this dude's been a playboy for far too long...and old demons die hard. With Charlie becoming the girl she was never able to be pre-makeover and Aspen showing him how delicious it feels to embrace his inner beast, Dante will have to go somewhere he never thought he'd return to in order to accomplish the impossible: save the girl he's been assigned to, and keep the girl he loves. The Dante Walker series is best enjoyed in order. Reading Order: Book #1 The Collector Book #2 The Liberator Book #3 The Warrior… (plus d'informations)

This is one series that I absolutely adore. Dante is one of my all-time favorite guy characters.

In The Liberator, Dante finds himself trying to figure out his new roll in Charlie’s life. He’s not sure how to be her boyfriend when he wants to pummel anyone who talks to her. He does a lot of growing up in this book. Charlie kind of annoyed me because she doesn’t recognize the changes that Dante is making. I absolutely love Aspen! She’s hardcore and passionate. She cares about few things, but those things/people she cares about she protects with ferocity.

I could predict some of what was going to happen, but even with kind of knowing what was going on, I loved every minute of it. There are quite a few action packed scenes. I love seeing Dante in action. Also, Valerie is great in this book. She’s trying to let things happen without tipping off Dante, or Charlie, to what is about to take place. There was a place in toward the end that I was surprised, and I’m anxious to see what this event means for Dante going forward. The ending left me wanting The Warrior NOW!!! ( )

I think this was a good book. Not great, but good. With regards to characters, Dante is the typical gorgeous male lead. He's strong-willed, stubborn, and impulsive. He is a little bit too sappy about his girlfriend Charlie in this book but otherwise, he is a winner and your typical hero who will face anything, even Hell, to keep Charlie safe. Charlie herself grows a lot stronger in this book. She is slowly accepting what is happening and learning to fight rather than cower and let everyone else to the work. She is starting to stand her ground and I think this makes her a much more likable character. We meet Aspen, who I didn't much care for at first, and ended up being one of my favorites. Her tough angry exterior slowly fell away as the story continued and I was actually surprised when she made a huge sacrifice toward the end of the story. All of the other characters are still a big part of the story too. Blue, Max, Valery, Annabelle, and now Kraven, who has quite a large role this time around.
The story was basic for the most part, Dante and his friends protecting Charlie at all costs. Dante gets another assignment however, and has to leave for a little while. While he is gone, demons go after Charlie. We find out that her soul is already in Hell and Dante decides to go get it. They go to a training center to get ready for the journey. When the story was close to ending, I was excited to see a cool plot twist that explained a lot and got me excited for the third installment. As I said, the book was good but until this part, the third book wouldn't have been on my priority list. I loved, however, the direction the author took at the end and so I will pick up the next one when it comes out to see what happens. If you liked the first book, I say go ahead and read this one. Once you get about three quarters of the way through, you will be happy you picked it up. ( )

I have to admit that when I got this book I was a bit nervous to read it. The first book was so good and I didn’t want to sequel to disappoint me. Not to mention that in the synopsis, it seemed like Dante would have trouble from his past. Despite my fears, I finally had the guts to read it….Folks, it is magnificent.

Plot: I love the way this plot goes straight back into the story but also has some growth in it. We all know that even if we leave our past, our past does not leave us. In time, Dante learns this and has to make some hard decisions. This plot leads to very brain-engaging questions. I mean, asking questions is good. It helps you think and really analyze why your are doing what you are doing. Dante finds what he is fighting for. And that fight is worth everything.

Love: This area had me nervous. I love Dante and Charlie and seeing them fall apart is hard. Like all couples, they fight and must find the strength to make it through together. The obstacles in their way may seem at first little, but they do has a significant play on their future. Even the other character that came into play, really made an impact on them both. And I’m happy with the way things play out in the end.

Ending: HOLY MOLY! This ending is so good and of course a cliff hanger that I’m dying for the next book. There are several bomb drops of secrets that are OMG!! I’m ecstatic to find out how the last book will play out.

This is a fantastic sequel that surpasses all my expectations. The darkness-defying tale mixed in with lots of emotions is a great formula for an awesome read. Even though the journey is not yet over, I’m excited to read the next book. A successful story, The Liberator is great! ( )

Now that I'm done with all of that I have to tell you how much I love this book! I think I like it better than the Collector. Scott does the best job with a male's POV ever! I love how action packed this was, this was definitely not a "Fluff" sequel. Now that Dante's become a Liberator, he has a new job to do, a new assignment. Reluctantly, he leaves Charlie to liberate Aspen, but when he gets there he finds that this job may be harder than he'd imagined.

I like that Charlie kinda finds her voice in this book, I felt kinda bad for her in the first. I also missed Dante's bad boy attitude. Though he hasn't completely deserted it.. he's trying to find the middle ground. I don't want to say too much more, as I don't want to spoil anything. But this book was total kick-a$$!! The ending.. GAH! I don't know if I can wait until the next one! I'm so excited to see what's going to happen. Plus I hope a certain new liberator gets his chance at love! He has a certain soft spot in my heart!

I totally recommend this, and who could deny Dante?! ( )

Review courtesy of All Things Urban Fantasy

Dante Walker is back with swagger for days. What is it about this cocky, brash, reformed player that makes me crave more and more of him? Or did I just answer my own question? In THE LIBERATOR, he’s everything I remember and a whole lot of stuff I thought I’d imagined in this follow up to Victoria Scott’s THE COLLECTOR.

If the description had you worried that we’d be getting a love triangle in THE LIBERATOR, fear not. There isn’t a glimmer, wayward thought, fleeting glance or anything that could even remotely be mistaken for attraction between Dante and Aspen. Dante is a complete one woman guy and the author when out of her way to make that fact abundantly clear (maybe almost too much). He is whipped with a capital ‘W’ when it comes to Charlie, and yet he doesn’t lose his innate Danteness–complete with audacious one-liners and cheesy/old school lingo.

As irresistible as Dante is, in a way, THE LIBERATOR feels like two novellas combined together. The first one deals with Dante getting his first assignment as a Liberator and trying to maintain his relationship with Charlie. The second one features the whole group at a Liberator training center called The Hive where Dante must learn to embrace his new abilities and prepare for the upcoming war between heaven and hell. The problem is that because the book feels largely divided, it isn’t as satisfying as I was expecting. Like eating snacks instead of a meal.

All three stars are for Dante this time out, as I was hoping for a stronger and more compelling story for this over the top yet somehow unbelievably addictive character. I never know if I want Charlie to smack or kiss the grin off his face (usually a little of both), but it’s impossible not to want more of him. And I do, just in a more worthy story (and maybe one that gives the object of his affection a little more personality). The Dante Walker series is a little less sizzling in this sequel, but Dante guarantees a good time, and I’m ready for round three whenever he is.
