   Aucun Actuellement, il n'y a pas de discussions au sujet de ce livre. The film is thoroughly pretty, though the story is purposefully very campy. It suffers a bit from a plotwise and pacing-wise weaker first 30-40 minutes (though this is perhaps the prettiest part of the film from a visual standpoint), but by the second half it is exciting and funny and worth the investment of time to get there. Also notable from a technical standpoint as groundbreaking in virtually nothing but the actors being non-CGI. Circa 1939 ace city reporter Polly Perkins has noted the sudden disappearances of many of the world's most famous scientists. After the city falls under attack of giant flying robots, she decides to team up with her ex-boyfriend, aviation officer Joe 'Sky Captain' Sullivan and flys around the world in search of the evil mastermind, Dr. Totenkopf, whose plan it is to create a new world by destroying the one of today.
