I am not sure this book had a point. It says it’s a two way story, but I don’t get it. A blobby alien is coming down to earth and then under the sea. It will pass many things on the way. The illustrations are great and they only thing keeping this from being a one star read. ( )

A Long Way Away is meant to be a two way story you can read from either end of the book. The idea may be interesting to a younger child, but the story isn't captivating enough for the concept to really work. The illustrations may be a bit too abstract to keep the child's attention. However, there are some useful pages for teaching orientation vocabulary. ( )

This was not what I expected and was somewhat disappointing. When it said a two-way story, I was hoping to turn it upside down and find another interesting tale in reverse. Instead it was just reading the same story backwards, which was uncomfortable and not entertaining for me or my child. ( )

A two-way story with a combination of simple and complex words. Meant to be read both ways to change the perspective of the reader.

The dual nature of the alien's journey gives the reader the opportunity to experience two entirely different endings depending on how the book is read.
