This book was written in the early 1920's and published by Leonard and Virginia Woolf's Hogarth Press in the spring of 1926. It was the author's first book. The setting for the story is South Africa. It's a look back at racial standards in society around the early part of the 20th Century. I enjoyed reading the book. aucune critique | ajouter une critique

Had to track down a copy via inter-library loan. Cannot believe such a powerful, complex work is so little known. Set in South Africa before Apartheid was codified, a story of race relations explores bigger themes of identity and selfhood.
